The Historical City - 18102008

Woke up extremely early today. My intention is not to head to office this morning; finally I'm having an off day this Saturday, something I seldom enjoy for the past 1 and a half month. I was a bit reluctant at first, but I need to keep my promises. It will be a one day trip down south and it should be fun.
Waited at the southern toll exit at 7.30 sharp for Nic, Justin, Foong and Adaa. It's not my first trip to this historical city, it's always about work. After 1 hour and 45 minutes, we reached the Malacca toll, and with another 20 minutes we reached our destination.
This trip will be more on food, food, food and food. Yeah also on historical side. For breakfast, Nic brought us to this Hainan toast bread. A'Famosa is next. The only remaining of the Portuguese fortress, up to the hill to the St Paul's church remaining. Next stop, down the hill to the Museums of Historical Malacca, the church and the clock tower.
Next stop Jonker Street, the remaining of old reconstruct structure. UNICEF recently declared historical heritage are.
Again its food, food and food. Lunch we had Hainan’s chicken rice, which I think its so so only, over publicity I guess for this place. After lunch down the street we had some desert, the famous cendol with its brown sugar or 'gula melaka'. I was extremely full. No more food I said, luckily we decided to stop for a break at a nearby cafe.
At night Nic again brought us to this Baba & Nyonya cafe, again all of us eat like no tomorrow. The food was delicious and yummy. We drove back to town and decided not to head to the Jonker Street night market as everyone is extremely tired
